Burnett Wilson Reeder is proud to be a major sponsor of the 5th Annual Tampa Pig Jig, Saturday, October 24, 2015, at Curtis Hixon Park in Downtown Tampa. The Pig Jig has its origins in a 2008 neighborhood barbecue competition to raise money for a Tampa native who had been stricken with an aggressive form of FSGS (Focal Segmental Glomerusclerosis), a rare and debilitating kidney disease. The event has exploded into a major event in recent years; however, the central focus still remains the local BBQ competition. The Pig Jig has raised over $600,000 in the last four years with all proceeds benefitting the NephCure Foundation, the only non-profit organization committed to research and treatment for FSGS. This year, BWR will be adding its recipes into the mix in hopes of winning at least one coveted Pig Jig trophy. In addition to food and drink, the Pig Jig has some major musical acts supporting the cause this year. On tap are Allen Hunt, Jason Cardinal, Mark Bryan (lead guitarist for Hootie and the Blowfish), JT Hodges, Nikki Lane, The Revivalists and capping off the night is the Eli Young Band. Come on out and support a great cause. While you’re there, make sure to say hello to Team BWR.
