We are proud to announce that Matthew L. Wilson and M. Lee Reeder have both been awarded Board Certification Status in Civil Trial Law. Less than 1% of all Florida lawyers are certified in Civil Trial Law and Board Certification status represents the highest level of expertise in Civil Trial Law as recognized by the Florida Bar. It is only fitting that Matt and Lee attain this status together as the two have successfully tried numerous cases together. In order to become Board Certified, Matt and Lee had to practice law for at least five years; actively participate in the specialty of civil trial – 50 percent of more – during the three years preceding application; conduct a specified number of trials, including a certain number as lead counsel; be evaluated for competency, ethics and professionalism by judges and peers; complete 50 hours of continuing legal education within the three years preceding application; and, pass a written examination demonstrating knowledge, skills, and proficiency in the field of civil law to justify the representation of special competence in this area of law to the legal profession and to the public. Needless to say, becoming Board Certified in Civil Trial Law is a major accomplishment. Congratulations to Matt and Lee!
